He has been described variously by the Financial Times as an ‘Agent provocateur’ and a ‘...leading revolutionary’

Human Resources magazine named him as a rising guru.

The Daily Telegraph described him as the ‘Max Headroom’ of the business school world and ‘unusual to back his ideas with his own money...’ adding that he has a ‘backlist of book titles in a style far removed from the ponderous approach of most management tomes.’

He has been called the eclectic Guru by Business Life

And the Sunday Times described his Pentacle as one of the few which ‘combine continuous learning with remote management and the Industry Standard described Pentacle as one of a new generation of on-line colleges is forcing traditional business schools through an entrepreneurial learning curve'
About Eddie Obeng

In 1994 Eddie Obeng set up Pentacle to act as a living experiment for his tools and techniques and to prove the practicality of the ‘virtual working’ he espouses. Formerly with Ashridge Management College, Shell and a consulting firm, having trained initially as a biochemical engineer, Eddie has a broad range of experience on which he draws. He has worked as a project manager, a ‘borrow-your-watch’ type consultant, as a tutor and a line manager. Eddie’s first Board appointment was as the youngest Executive Director of any business school in Europe.

Most of Eddie's current work revolves around what he describes as the 'New World' environment. He has taken to heart the structural changes in the global economy and has started from scratch, with creativity, insight and a clean sheet of paper to research issues and invent solutions to the range of pressures and challenges that the New World poses to organisations and especially businesses. He works on understanding how best to manage and deliver successful business strategies in the high paced, non-linear, highly competitive world where almost all industry barriers are blurred, how to allow people to work together to their fullest potential and happiness through teams, virtual and real, and through appropriate organisational structures, and how to harness and use information and knowledge through technology to achieve business success. In addition he works hard to understand effective and timely new models and mechanisms for delivering learning to executives and managers in the New World.

Eddie is author of numerous articles and books. He focuses on journals and magazines which he describes ‘real people read’. His books are designed to be read and read again and written to make it easy for managers to share ideas and concepts with their colleagues. All of them are written as part-novel part-practical, easy-to-use handbook or textbook. Eddie has concentrated on redefining important and 'Hot' management topics as they apply in the New World. All Change! the Project Leader’s Secret handbook tackles all the issues of delivering successful change in the New world environment through ‘chunks’ or projects. Putting Strategy to Work addresses the leadership of strategic implementation in the New World, considering the difficulties of delivering long term strategy in a less predictable, short term environment. Making Re-engineering Happen is aimed at using processes as the backbone of New World activities and money-making. Achieving Organisational Magic highlights the human issues and organisational structures required to create an organisation which resonates in harmony with the New World. New Rules for the New World provides practical guidance to avoiding nasty New World business shocks.

I read business books for a living, hundreds of them in the course of a year to sort out the good from the bad. I found this one a real pleasure
